to participate in the simple woman's daybook go here
FOR TODAY Sunday night (again) January 18th.

Outside my window...it's dark and cool the windows are closed, but the heat's not on.

I am thinking...about how people should give blood. I challenged my readers before about this and I'm doing it again...I gave blood today, it's not that hard, just do it!

I am thankful for...family and friends.

From the learning rooms...I've decided we'll continue to avoid the FCAT, but do plan on doing some kind of testing, in the meantime we'll be downloading free practice tests that we find online. Madi finished her mathbook on Friday and will begin the next one this week. Last week Jonathan and Madi "debated" about whether Andrew Carnegie was a good or bad guy (he gave A LOT of money to charity, but he had A LOT of money because he paid he's steel factory workers so little. Jake is on day 79 of his curriculum...100 here we come!

From the kitchen...Mike made the best chicken and steak tonight (we had Meme and Grampa Carlie and Jeannie and Gerry here for dinner). We learned from Mike's father this summer that if you soak chicken in salt water before you grill it it comes out DElicious! We also had mac and cheese and cucumber and tomato salad with feta cheese...we didn't have to buy any of this we are still cleaning out the freezer! More clean out the rest of the week.

I am wearing...soft purple jammies.

I am creating...a crocheted dish cloth...Jeannie taught me today and it's more than half way done...I'm pretty proud of myself! Madi and I also made two jean purses for a birthday party on Saturday.

I am going...to bed as soon as I am done here.

I am reading...another Karen Kingsbury and have to get moving on Julie of the Wolves for bookclub.

I am hoping...it snows on our vacation.

I am hearing...Mike watching football.

Around the house...everyone else is in bed.

One of my favorite things...fudge that friends of my parents make...they brought me some today!

A few plans for the rest of the week: calm Monday, jam-packed Tues and Wed, head out of town Thur at 5am first stop Tallahassee where Mike will work for about 6 hours and we'll have to find someway to amuse ourselves (thrift stores, book stores, and possibly a movie) then continue on to Atlanta where Mike will work some more on Friday morning, then finally to the mountains of NC and our timeshare for a week of rest and relaxation!

Here is a picture story I am sharing...
