Do I wonder why....

...my house looks like this?

It's two days before Christmas, and here's a little sampling of what my yesterday looked like. (not to mention I'm still blogging now as opposed to actually kicking into geer and cleaning it up!)

First we went to the nursing home to hand out crafts (the kids ended up singing too). Jake is hiding behind Daniel.

Can you tell what these two want for Christmas?

Then we came home and baked. I never even got to the fudgy bon bons yesterday, four Hawaiian breads and 8 mini cranberry breads was enough to send me over the edge!

Then the kids went to a little party where they made these...

THEN came Church rehersal for the two kings...

THEN we went home to eat a supper which was already done thanks to the crock pot and Mike. THEN we went to pick up TJ because he was going to spend the night with Jake (he'd already been to our house earlier in the day--after the nursing home during the baking --which the boys were not a part of). THEN we brought Madi back to the house where the party had been where she and Jonathan were spending the night (Jonathan stayed the whole time). We hung out with friends there for a while, sitting around the outside fire drinking wine (me--only one glass) and coffee (Mike) until 10 pm. Then Mike and I went to bed and Jake and TJ played for an undetermined length of time.

Which brings us to this morning...

and another full day coming up!

My house looks like that too! Do your kids live here?? Or do my kids live at your house?

Looks like a normal week before Christmas "with kids" house to me! You sound like your family is having fun so that's what matters, right? :)

Well, I feel better about my house now. It's not nearly as bad as yours! HA HA, I'm just teasing. It's actually about the same, maybe a tad worse. The only thing that matters is that you are enjoying your time with family and friends and building happy memories for everyone and it looks like you have that covered.

I really wish Christmas didn't have to be so crazy. It takes so much to make it to the big day. I am finally having a down day and plan to watch movies most of the day. We've already watched "Miracle on 34th Street" and the kids have watched some I got from the library. I am most excited to see "White Christmas."

Whew! I'm glad my house is not the only one that is trashed! LOL (And I only have one!) I just spent AN HOUR cleaning the living room! Tomorrow morning is full, complete cleaning and then baking cookies in the afternoon!

I love that you guys go to the nursing homes-having worked in nursing homes for so many years, I can totally appreciate it on behalf of the residents; they LOVE kids; especially at Christmas!
