Night of Joy etc...

We went to Night of Joy at Disney's Hollywood Studios this weekend. This is kind of a "Woodstock" of Christian music. Meme and Grampa Carlie stayed at the hotel with us (all seven of us squished--illegally--in one small room.), so they could hang out with Jake while the rest of us went to the concerts. We have some video of some of the songs on the camera, but I'm not sure that they really came out and I currently don't have the patience or energy to load them on here now (we were out until 2am the first night and past midnight the second--so much for beginning a new week well rested). Here are some pictures that I took with my phone...

On Saturday night we met some friends there. The crowd was overwhelming Saturday night. It was probably the first time I've really seen Disney drop the ball regarding crowd control. Casting Crowns (probably our family's current favorite band) was playing in the "Lights Motor Action" arena at 8:15. When we got to the area at around 8:00 the line was HUGE! Shortly after we got in line, they said the 8:15 show was already full and now we could wait in the line for the 9:45 show (Casting Crowns was playing twice). Amazingly we were eventually let in--before the start of the 8:15 show, there was a little pushing and shoving and yelling (we only did the yelling:)). Once in there, there was probably room for about 200 more people (it supposedly seats 5000), and they had stopped letting people in.

We went to Mass this morning at Mary Queen of the Universe Shrine. Here is Jonathan and Madi checking out a beautiful bronze sculpture of St Joseph talking to a young Jesus.

welcome back! Maddy and Mike had a great time meeting up with you guys! I was green with envy. It was a shame that they didn't host it at the Magic Kingdom. You never had crowd problems there.

I would love to go to night of joy one time. I always say next year and then forget :o(. You have to remind me next year. And the St Joseph and child Jesus statue at the Shrine is one of my favorites. It is so neat how St Joe is looking at Jesus and looks like he is listening so closely to him speak. Love it.

I thought Night of Joy was just a big concert on the main stage or something. I didn't know that there were different venues but that makes sense. Isn't it usually at Magic Kingdom?
