Science fun

We had a lot of science experiments today about mixtures and solutions. This one invloved separating a mixture by putting a mark with a magic marker on paper and submerging the tip of the paper in water. As the water moved up the paper it sparated the colors in the mark (ie green into blue and yellow).

We were supposed to see how water dissolves solvents more easily when it is warm. We had to do this with by stirring salt into cold water and then into warm water. It was much easier to see it really working when we made tea in hot and cold water. Here's Jonathan with it can you guess which is which?

Here are Jake and Madi having some fun with goop (cornstarch and water). If you've never tried it, this is a must! Yes, Jake is still wearing the baseball shirt from yesterday backwards so you can you see the number.

Really cool! I love the stuff you do! Tucker loved the "goop"-stuff at the science fair last year.

You are such a good mom! Those look like very interesting experiments.
