The Big Red Bus

I'm careful to avoid most religious and political debate on my blog, but I'm going to take a moment to challenge you. Did you know that the statistics are something like 65% of the population is eligible to give blood and only about 4% does?! Three out of the last 4 times I've attempted to give blood, my iron has been too low. I knew the blood mobile was going to be at our church this week, so I've been taking multi-vitamins all week and ate more red meat than usual. My iron was fine and I could do it. It isn't that hard, doesn't take very long, and can really save someone's life. So...if you are one of the 65% that is eligible, please consider donating blood...I guarantee it'll make a difference in someone's life!

It is a good thing. It scares me and I have to get over that.

I'm been leery of donating blood ever since I passed out after the one in high school! I know I should just get over it, right?!
